Communicating With Care

The past six months have been stressful for people the world over. That’s why it’s especially important right now to approach customer relationships in a thoughtful and compassionate manner.

It’s likely that you and your clients have experienced shifts in your lives—personally and professionally. While the goal is to always maintain a clear picture of your customers, this is a critical time to take a step back, reevaluate focus and be sure you’re providing what they need. Here are a few easy ways to do that.

Address the change
Let customers know that your company understands how these changes have affected us all and that you are here to help.

Educate and confirm
Outline any changes your team has adopted to address the new environment. Be sure to detail how you will continue to provide the products or services they have come to expect.

Innovate
Beyond confirming that they can count on continued value, let customers know about new offerings. What new ideas will help you align with the future landscape?

Take Care of Yourself, Too

Just as important—don’t let your own health take a back seat! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention note, “Coping with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.” Equip yourself with tools to cope with stress in healthy ways and look after your mental health. Knowing how to deal with stress will put you on a positive path as well as help you better understand customer needs. That way, we can all move forward together.
